Brijesh Sharma
Advocate Brijesh Sharma, Founder Director of SAVIGYA, is a seasoned legal professional with over 23 years of experience in developmental research, capacity building, advocacy, and legal practice. Having started his career in the judiciary as a personal assistant, he acquired in-depth knowledge of judicial trials and procedures before transitioning into independent practice. Since the last 13 years, he has been actively practicing law before the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Indore Bench, as well as before various High Courts, Tribunals, and Special Courts across India, including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, and beyond.
He has appeared and handled matters before diverse forums such as the Supreme Court of India, High Courts, National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), Debt Recovery Tribunals (DRT), SEBI, Consumer Forums, RERA Authorities, Family Courts, and Civil & Criminal Courts across jurisdictions. His expertise spans corporate practice, banking and financial law, insolvency, real estate, revenue, matrimonial disputes, accident claims, SARFAESI matters, labour and service law, environmental law, and human rights litigation.
Brijesh Sharma is also the Founder-Director of SAVIGYA (Saral Vidhi Gyan), a non-profit organization founded in 2005, which has worked extensively for legal empowerment and awareness of marginalized communities. Under his leadership, SAVIGYA has evolved into a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP), providing structured legal interventions across courts and tribunals in India.
As a Specialist Human Rights Trainer, he has designed and delivered more than 80 national-level training programmes for NGOs, government institutions, police, judiciary, and grassroots activists, focusing on legal literacy, access to justice, child rights, women’s rights, PESA, and criminal justice reforms. His contributions also include training material development for institutions such as IGNOU, Rajeev Gandhi Shiksha Mission, UNDP-SAJSI Project, and Chhattisgarh State Institute for Rural Development.
He has conducted extensive research on prison reforms by visiting over 50 jails in Madhya Pradesh, studying inmates’ rights, prison administration, and correctional practices. He has been actively associated with Child Line India Foundation (1098 project) as a Nodal Officer, as well as with several national consultations on the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, human rights implementation, and legal literacy for marginalized groups.
Recognized for his work, he has been awarded by the M.P. State Legal Services Authority for amicable settlement of over 700 women-related cases in Lok Adalats and by Youth for Human Rights International (YHRI) for his commendable contribution to Human Rights Education in India.
